The Making of a New Friend

This morning Emily and her friend Kylie went to Build-A-Bear at the Mall. While Kylie has come here a few times before, this was Emily's first time. She was clearly astonished at all the variety of animals and accessories for them. I was more astonished about the prices! :)

Very consistent with her personality, Emily did not take long to pick out a bear or the outfit. She immediately knew that she wanted a soft brown bear, and she picked out a frilly silk white and gold dress and matching gold and silver shoes (shoes on a bear???). She also got it white silk underwear (ditto????). Kylie picked out a pink heart leopard and a surfer outfit with croc shoes.

Then they entered their information in the computer (with moms' help) and printed out the bears' Birth Certificates. Emily named her bear Madison and Kylie named hers June, probably because Kylie's birthday is in June and she thinks it's a cool name for everything and everyone. The bears were put into cardboard houses with handles, and the kids happily trotted out, excited about their new friends as well as about going to the playground.

We ate lunch at the food court, complete with a cookie. We all parted ways, having thoroughly enjoyed our morning.
