On April 30th, Emily turned 5! Dmitri took the girls to the Cincinnati Zoo in the morning. They got to see flamingos, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, polar bears, and other animals - but the animal that fascinated Natalie the most was an elephant having a bowel movement. She would later recount to people with a lot of emotion and gestures, "Lefant - poop - biiig - ewww - yuck!"
After the girls' nap, the festivities began. Lots of friends came over and Emily was blessed with so many wonderful gifts. Her newest passion is Polly Pocket dolls and accessories (thanks to our friend Carol who introduced Emily to her first Polly Pocked doll 3 days before her birthday). Now she has 5 or 6 of those dolls, complete with lots of tiny shoes (perfectly bite-sized for Natalie), clothes, and even a car and a water park complete with slides!
